Murugan's body exhumed, re-postmortem done

Tuticorin: Amid tight security, a second post-mortem was carried out on the body of M. Murugan, Assistant Quality Control Officer of Civil Supplies Godown, Tuticorin, at the burial ground here on Monday. He died on September 11.
According to initial post-mortem report, he died of consuming poison on September 7. Selvi, wife of the deceased, alleged that his death was a planned murder by his enemies at workplace, following which the matter was taken to the High Court.
Following a High Court directive, the body of Murugan was exhumed and the doctors examined it to submit the findings before the court.
The body was exhumed by doctors K. Natarajan and Rajavel of Madurai Medical College in the presence of Dayalan Tamilselvan, Deputy Superintendent of Police, CB-CID; Karuppasamy, Tahsildar; Jayavel, Village Administrative Officer; and Sankaranarayanan, Revenue Inspector.

Murugan's body exhumed, re-postmortem done
Thoothukudi

A TEAM of doctors on Monday performed re-postmortem after exhuming the body of M Murugan, an assistant quality control inspector in the Civil Supplies department in Thoothukudi.
Based on the directions by Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court, the re-postmortem was done at the corporation burial grounds here.
Natarajan and Rajavel from Government Medical College, Madurai conducted the re-postmortem.
It may be recalled that Murugan who was admitted to the Thoothukudi Medical College Hospital on
September 7 for allegedly consuming poison succumbed four days later.
The case was under investigation by the CB-CID and based on a petition by Dalit activist S Ramar.
After conducting the re-postmortem the body was handed over to Murugan’s wife Selvi and relatives of Murugan for performing rites as earlier the government authorities had buried the body after the family refused to accept it.
Dr Xavier Selva Suresh from the petitioner’s side, Murugan’s wife Selvi, CB-CID DSP Dayalan Tamilselvan, tahsildar Kauppasamy and relatives of Murugan were present when the body was exhumed.

Thoothukudi:

The body of the assistant quality control officer at the civil supplies department was exhumed and submitted for re-postmortem in Thoothukudi on Monday.

Based on a PIL filed by an activist Ramar of Kovilpatti on the mysterious death of the civil supplies quality control officer, the Madurai bench of the high court on Octobe 5 ordered to exhume Murugan’s body and do re-postmortem. Based on the court verdict, Murugan’s body was exhumed on Monday.
